I really hope the Conservatives do keep Scheer, but I don't know how they can.

"High profile mother"? She never wanted the political spotlight in the first place, separated from Trudeau over 40 years ago, and Pierre raised the boys. Her main interest has been speaking out for people with bipolar disorder. Her opinion of his wearing some stupid costume 18 years ago, had absolutely nothing to do with this election. I thought it was a low point in Dawna Friesen's career to stoop to such a stupid question.

On the other hand asking a candidate like Scheer, a guy who claims to be Catholic (Thou shalt not lie, remember?), about how he explains CURRENT lies to his children, a guy who claims to be a family man, what sort of example does that present to his children, and Canadian children in general? It's okay for someone to lie as long as they are Catholic, smile a lot while they lie, and get elected after all?

And you know what? The Smiling Thing works. My elderly mom used to vote for some of the worst lowlife politicians, just because they had a great smile. She didn't really understand their platforms or what was going on with all the lies, but she thought "He's a nice man", and her vote counted the same as anyone else's.

You can accept it, but as most of these aren't "lies" on Scheer or the Conservatives behalf, but a lot of conjecture that all parties engage in. We all get it, there is a vested interest by the regressive Left to portray the Conservatives as liars, while hypocritically engaging in the same kind of political "speculation" and being given a free pass by the usual suspects. It's actually pretty sad.

Why would Dawna Friesen be grilling a candidate for PM as to his mother's opinion on a costume he wore at a party 18 years ago? Is that really the critical question that reporters are asking about in Canada these day? What happened to actual issues facing Canadians relative to the election?

There was also a Town Hall about that time, which Trudeau attended. A question came up about the issue, asked and answered, and then the questions moved on to issues of more concern to more Canadians, and the TV reporters supposedly covering this Town Hall cut away and just kept discussing the "scandalous Alladin costume", ignoring all those real issues that Canadians were bringing up. So the idea that the news reporters are somehow responding to being paid off by the Liberals is ridiculous.
