Now that the election is over, Kenney has to release the budget he's been hiding. So we'll see how those backwater bumpkins feel about higher electrical rates, higher municipal property taxes, school fees, and health user fees, service cuts . . .

Gotta pay for those $4.5 billion Big Oil tax cuts somehow.

Clinton’s final tally came in at 65,844,610, compared to Donald Trump’s 62,979,636, with a difference of 2,864,974.

According to CTV's election results as of early Tuesday morning, the Conservatives took 6,139,185 of Canada's nearly 18 million ballots cast, claiming 34.4 per cent of the popular vote compared to the Liberals' 33.1 per cent -- a difference of more than 243,000 votes.

Considering the US population is approximately 9-10 times that of Canada I'd say the popular vote comparison is actually quite valid.

Actually, being two lone landlocked provinces whose only industries/exports are grain and oil . . . and whose southern neighbour is self-sufficient in both . . .

I wish these dullards would stop blaming their problems on 4 years of Trudeau and start blaming it on the 44 years of Conservative rule that failed to diversify their economies and prepare them for the end of oil.

I predict the aggressively progressives here will double down on deriding Albertans, stereotyping them, dismissing their concerns and treating them with contempt, further dividing the country.

I predict the aggressively progressive parties will force the minority Liberals to focus enough of our resources on "climate emergency" related policies to significantly impede Canada's ability to rely on our own agriculture and energy, making us increasingly beholden to other nations whose economies we will support while devaluing our own.

I predict the aggressively progressives will collectively condemn the Conservatives for not cooperating while these so-called progressive parties work together to undermine Canada's economic well-being, and collude to implement policies which, like ethanol, are inhumane and ineffective, and, like solar, rely on resources sourced from countries using child labour and environmentally destructive practices.

I predict the aggressively progressives will, in the following election campaign, blame the Harper government for the growing deficit, insisting he laid the foundation for what happened to the average Canadian's standard of living.

What do you mean by "progressive" exactly? Who decided that packaging a bunch of really really bad ideas together and re-labeling them something supposedly positive makes them less stinky?

I would say what matters is that the popular vote was won by a Party that isn't "regressive", whatever that even means, but has policies that actually make sense, instead of drunken sailor spending pie in the sky fairy tale fear-mongering nonsense. Thank goodness for that! There is still hope for Canada!
