The Biggest Losers

Post by Glacier »

1) Ralph Goodale, the only MP who was in Pierre Trudeau's caucus.
2) Lisa Raitt, highest profile Conservative to go down to defeat.
3) Jane Philpott, the dumped Liberal minister, lost as an independent.
4) PPC leader and almost Conservative leader, Maxime Bernier, lost his long-held seat of Beauce.
5) Amarjeet Sohi was the only *other* Liberal cabinet minister to lose, as he went down to defeat in Edmonton.
6) Randy Boissonnault, the first openly gay Alberta MP, failed to get re-elected in his Edmonton area riding.
7) Matthew Dubé, the NDP's public safety critic, lost his Quebec riding.

The worst part about a 7 day lockdown is the first 4 months.

Nice list,

Minor Nitpikl.

Ralph Goodale was Cabinet Minister under JT. He was Minister of Public Safety.
Thus Amarjeet was not the ONLY cabinet member to get the boot.

You don't consider Fuhr to be a biggest loser?
He was chair of the Standing Committee on National Defence.
Still the biggest loser in these parts by far.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Hardly, when you consider that the riding was a Conservative stronghold for years, with Ron Canaan the MP.

So you're saying it's just gone back to normal.
Sorry folks for the blip in the political road. Sorry for the 4 years of Fuhr, now we can get back on with our normal lives.
I could agree with that. :smt045

The biggest loser: Alberta. Been losing ever since oil was discovered there. Did they put away anything for the inevitable bad times? Only $15 billion and then Ralph Klein got ahold of that and spent it all on lower and lower taxes. Now they're running deficits. And still electing the thieves who've given away their wealth. Of course the latest incarnation of those is Jason Kenney who claims it's "all Trudeau's fault".

Norway: been socking away about 70 percent of the money that their oil generates. They are now at about $1.2 TRILLION. That's 1,200 billion compared to Alberta's long gone 15. All Norwegian education, even university and technical schools, is free. All health care, even more than ours, is free. Your kids can play any sport they want with coaching. Free. It's just a socialist hell.

The NDP also lost one of their higher profile MP’s, and possible future leader of the NDP, Ruth Ellen Brosseau... she being the recipient of Trudeau’s flying elbow.

We are also one Liberal Kent Hehr short now, beaten senseless by Conservative Greg McLean. Party in Calgary Center everyone!

OMG stop talking about Norway. 3rd highest gas prices in the world! Nearly double what we pay. Mostly due to taxes. And other taxes are also huge, way more than we have. So if you want to have $1.2 Trillion saved away then, sure do like Norway, raise taxes massively. Yep that's good thinking, real good thinking.

A conservative and a good sport makes a crack about the real losers.
