Gas Report Manipulated?
Probably and doesn't surprise me. Hydro gets to build another dam. We honestly don't need another dam. We do need to work with what we have in the way of resources and a better, cleaner and more efficient way to extract them. Electric energy is not necessarily cleaner energy and it does the environment.

Re: Gas Report Manipulated?
I read 3/4 way through all the report in the link and found it very confusing.
Is there a simple synopsis spelling out what the problem is, and a clear proposal to address it?
Canada has lots of natural gas and it should therefore be cheap to use it. Or, did I misunderstand? Is there some kind of cloudy agenda at work here?

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Very Confusing... and lets face it... BC does have NG... and so does Alberta... so if a reasonable cost use it until the wokes wake up... and realize that electrical supply is limited..... see how the EV Vehicles can not do certain routes and think the charging is cheap... give it time and add the road tax to pay for roads... and the Hydro guys get greedy only a matter of time... time will tell.... trust me...!!!

Not sure why you're opposed to hydro electric dams. Yes, they do flood an area but once they're built, we've got more clean hydro power.Loops1 wrote: ↑Aug 8th, 2023, 4:27 pm Probably and doesn't surprise me. Hydro gets to build another dam. And natural gas, I love it too. We need to take advantage of both.
As for the report, if it's confusing for some, I'll pass.

Go ahead Babba, try wading thru the report and perhaps you will be the one to divine its meaning.

Interesting that the government wants us to switch to electricity.
Could it be that in 90% of the province we would become solely dependent on BC Hydro, a crown corporation for our energy needs?

Re: Gas Report Manipulated?
Curiously I wonder if anyone has looked into transmission losses between hydro & natural gas.
Power generated at the dam is x, by the time it gets to hydro stations it’s lost x amount (not sure exact amount).
Meanwhile natural gas tends to have very little loss unless pipeline has a leak.
