Dinner in an Igloo?
Just came across this and was amazed.
No doubt restaurants are always looking for new ideas and this one could be a winner. I believe they have three of these "igloos".
My wife and I are booked for next week and will report back on it. We're kind of hoping it snows. https://www.facebook.com/romeoskitchens ... =3&theater

Interesting concept - bonus is not having to listen to conversation from other tables. But you might want to remove your last sentence ... the *S* word is verboten.
Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I'm retired and I have a snowblower that doesn't get used enough.oneh2obabe wrote:Interesting concept - bonus is not having to listen to conversation from other tables. But you might want to remove your last sentence ... the *S* word is verboten.
Those that don't like snow, screw 'em.
Yes, and it's heated.GordonH wrote:Dinner in see though plastic tent... Wow.
And apparently the waitresses still have to wear skirts.
If the night goes well and I can't drive home, we just may have to get a room.

Re: Dinner in an Igloo?
Well that was a very unique experience.
First the "igloos".
They're like a geodesic dome. About 12 feet across and 7 feet high in the center and covered in a heavy plastic.
The zippered door was about 5 feet high, tall enough no one had to crawl in.
The inside was decked out very thoughtfully with an electric fireplace and small container of firewood. Of course it wasn't functional but there was an functional electric heater.
A more than perfect atmosphere.
The outside temperature was around zero, so the heater was a necessity. One definitely has to dress warm though.
The dinner.
Always great here. This has been our go-to restaurant for a number of years.
Anyone want details on the meal, fire away.
There is a $20 charge to use these igloos, justified as I'm sure they are not cheap.
I'm not sure how warm these will be at -15 or colder but they'll be pretty comfy and usable right through until summer.

I still think businesses can innovate and come up with new ways to make a profit. There are creative aspects like dinner in a bubble that demonstrate we can think outside the box.
