That is sad....when I turned 18 there was a Federal Election. My father was excited that I could do the adult thing.

Is it parents have failed or is it young people just don't care who screws them over?
Could be either. We've always emphasized the importance of voting and what happens when we don't.

We voted together as a family. There were interesting conversations in the car on the way to and back from voting.
Cool, I always like to read about who is running. I'm not one to vote federally for a given party.

Example, truly what did Trudeau have for credentials to attempt to run a country never mind manage a Dollar Store. Get your kids reading prior to voting to educate themselves on who they should vote for.

It's not always about 'reading' but about the person themselves...You could have gone to Harvard and hold 3 degrees and be a complete genius but not have any 'people smarts' whatsoever...You could have intellectual disabilities but be CEO/Owner of a multimillion dollar business.

Always better to never mistake 'education' for individual intelligence 😁

Sudsy your Son is right :/
Having a Mayor and City Council is basically just having a figurehead with no teeth
They can't do anything about crime, etc.... seems here they just argue and vote on new developments

City Manager is who we should be voting for imo

SNIP
"What is the role of a mayor in Canada?
To be head of the municipal council and to act as Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. To preside over council meetings. To provide leadership to council. To represent the municipality at official functions."
