Re: Canadian Wildfire Season - 2023
I had spec'd out something similar in 2005 as our new water system was being built.
1050 Waterous with a JD engine on a trailer. 1000' -4" discharge line pulled by a pick up.
More suited for the lake as a source. RDOS said no....regardless money was available and this would be available for all RDOS jurisdictions.

I am not wealthy but I am rich

I thought it was well established that embers flew across the lake from the McDougall Creek fire to start the fires on the Kelowna side of the lake, but regardless it has been confirmed.
I was at the fire tower at the top of Wilden a few hours before the fire destroyed Trader's Cove and jumped the lake. In retrospect, it was pretty foolhardy to take pictures from up there, but who knew it would take off like it did.
Trying to attach a picture here, but Castanet wants to flip it upside down for some reason.

I thought it was already established too and it’s happened before that embers have jumped the lake.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Anyway, it seems to have come through now. If you right click on it and open it in a new tab, you get a higher resolution view.
I miss hiking around there.

It doesn’t show up on my phone. Checked on my computer and it’s not working.

Hmm, oh well. I must have a cached version that only works for me. Screw it, upside down it is.

Drip Torch - an upright and steadfast keeper of the flame, but when tilted sideways the contents spill and then our destiny is in the wind...
