Why are we paying for this mismanaged co-op. I worked for them and tax payer should not bail out the poor rich farmers we as tax payers are worse off! Time for a government change where they actually work for the majority! I get no handouts when m6 business is suffering because our government implements the most rediculous air bnb rules, where the government introduces new stats that I have to pay, where this government implements paid sick days where now the small business has to pay 2 people for one job!

beleaguered: : suffering or being subjected to constant or repeated trouble or harassment.

Subjected: cause or force to undergo.

These clowns have mismanaged this co-op for years and ran it into the ground via there own decisions. Not "climate change" or some other uncontrollable external force . They did this to them selfs

And now they get our tax dollars ???

There better be big strings attached

Kevin Falcon form BC United / BC Liberals bowed to them to go public trying for votes.

Like Many have said, how do you accumulate $50 Million debt without Big Payouts.

Let them go bust and let another competent company take over the work.

Not a penny from taxpayers

I have definitely changed my thinking. This is not disimilar to what happened to prairie farmers over the last decades. The corporate farms with large acreage, buying power and large customers won out over the small farmers.
Same should happen here. One comment from a grower...the Walmarts won't buy from our small operators. Hmmm is there a message right there?
It's called change.

Also the fact that they are going under at a critical time tells me they were absolutely incompetent. They should have been able to get to end of season 2023 or 2024 not mid season. Idiots!!

This is the end of the 2023 apple SELLING season. Apple growers have received most of the money from last years crop, and can redirect this years fruit somewhere else. If they had closed in November the apple growers would have got through harvest, but not been paid for it. Maybe they are not as dumb as some...
