I think median or barrier would be more correct.

Peachland has its head up its collective sphincter.
The first thing that needs to be done is to change all the access points to 97 that are not signal (traffic light) controlled to right in - right out only. It is absurd that folks coming off access points to 97 can try to make a left turn across traffic. Just like what has been done in the West Kelowna corridor between Boucherie Road and downtown Westbank.
The second thing to be done is to put a concrete median along the entirety of the stretch between traffic lights to prevent those left hand turns mentioned above.
The third thing is to raise speed limits in more sections to 80-90 km/hr once the concrete median is in place. There is no reason for a 70 km/hr speed limit along any of the stretch.
And lastly, get a bypass around Peachland sooner rather than later.

As a parent who lost their son two summers ago, just on the south side of Princeton hill turnoff, just in front of the dog beach.
I have 2 suggestions.
Time the Province make that road more like a Highway than a 2 lane city street.
How do you allow 3 million vehicles to pass through the Drought Hill to Antler beach every year and consider that a safe Highway.
It is one of the biggest jokes of a road their is in the province.
Second, concrete median all the way to join where it starts past Antler beach.
The frustration is people who go so slow due to sight seeing. I don't believe the current speed limit is the issue, it is the disgusting attempt at a Highway we are provided.

How about just bypassing Peachland all together. Best solution for traffic

It's a highway though a town with barely any buildings on the banks of the road! If anything, the speed limit should be raised to 80 km/hr. West Kelowna has buildings on the banks of its highway so it's posted to 50 km/hr, plus West Kelowna also has sidewalks, which Peachland has none on its highway except for where the speed drops from 90km/hr to 70 km/hr after the hill down into peachland, before you go over the lil' Bridge at the strip mall. Plus only in Kelowna will you see the HOV lane in the left lane, while the rest of Canada uses the right lane for the HOV lane, which goes against the laws of the road.

A bypass is the answer. The commercial trucks could move along. It will solve another problem such as in the event of a forest fire evacuation. MODI called off all the inquiries into the bypass. Govt is slow and poor on preparing for infrastructure needs. They want less roads, less vehicles and more transit. New roads aren’t in the plan unfortunately.
