I imagine that if John Rustad was Premier he'd phone the judge and give him good lecture. And threaten to fire him. And only then find out................

BC, has a two tier system, this killer (for that is what he is) killed a young man just entering the prime of life, made paraplegics out of two other other young men who were stopped at a stop sign ploughed into them at such speed his vehicle landed on top of .
Prior to plowing into these young volleyball players car, he caused untold damage to street property and caused numerous injuries to 11 other people. Yet by the power of some act of leniency by some no-name prosecutor he is not charged. Obviously not the same prosecutor who recently charged a truck driver for causing the death (that of the driver behind him), by having an unsafe load, when a spare wheel fell of his truck, into the car.
Quite rightly so, when death occurs, somebody has to be charged, it is not up to some individual to decide who should walk free with just a slap on the hand and a fine.
When a death is involved, when people/ families are changed forever and denied justice, it should automatically be decided by judge and jury, where all the facts are brought out. This is the only way we can get out this two tier system that we have today.

Crown prosecutors are too lazy in doing their job, this accident is a prime example. Excessive speed, numerous collisions with trees and property and then slam into a parked vehicle at an intersection with enough force to enter the front end into the cab of the vw Jetta. Maybe they should be brought before the courts to explain their theory on this accident and why no criminal charges should be put forward, be accountable for your decisions not hide behind their position. As well quite negotiating all murder cases down to manslaughter for an easy guilty plea, do your dam job and let the jury or court decide. My simple view of things.

No fault insurance is just another way for ICBC to save large amounts of money to injured victims . Pretty low considering the billions it collects !

Conservatives would love to privatize insurance and go back to the good old days when new drivers couldn't afford to buy insurance, and the lawyers were getting rich.
