Why, Summerland has a huge inventory of barely or never used ev charging stations, just come pick them up, no one will miss them. Also have about 200 meters of barely used very expensive bike lane.
The regressive woke globalist WEF cult board members keep coming up with useless idea's to label their cult, that does nothing for the property tax payers.

So who exactly is paying for this again? There's a ribbon cutting ceremony so it sounds like tax dollars. I sure wouldn't want any of my tax dollars to help pay for what is essentially a gas station.

That is great news. Another option for charging in the Okanagan-Similkameen. The only people misinformed are those who hate EV’s. If you don’t want your tax dollars going to a cleaner environment, maybe you should leave. Talk about a cult…..

My only issue is that they were not installed with taxpayers money, and they are pay to use.blackdog777 wrote: ↑Nov 30th, 2024, 7:32 pm That is great news. The only cult I can think of are ones that realize Canada's contribution to C02 emissions are 1.5-1.8 % of the world's total. With this in mind this "cult" realizes if all the cars, trucks, transport trucks, jet travel, home heating, natural gas electrical production and cow farts were to abruptly stop tomorrow, there will not be one iota of difference in C02 worldwide weather change, not one. When Canada has 5 million new immigrants, C02 rates are going to be difficult to bring down to 1995 levels or whenever the benchmark is, don't ya think?blackdog777 wrote: ↑Nov 30th, 2024, 7:32 pm The only people misinformed are those who hate EV’s. The only ones that might leave BC are ones that see the tax and spend NDP are not far from flushing BC down the toilet and then ones might leave Canada if the putz continues to borrow money to spend on things like... well subsidies. Don't be surprised when a fiscally responsible government ever comes to power, subsidies will stop and social programs will be cut to get this country back on track.
PS: I'm not an EV hater, in my case when an EV offers the same or better to what I drive today, I'll switch. Might take 10 years, but I'm prepared to drive my ICE car until that day comes.

It's amazing that some people are so misinformed they think giant toxic ev batteries are good for the environment and also think they should be charged with tax dollars. This cult will be leaving rational society soon thank goodness.

Personally I find EV are essentially a throwaway vehicle, the pricetag on replacing the battery makes it that way.
Kinda similar to those rotary engine vehicles.

What does an EV have to do with a "cleaner environment"?blackdog777 wrote: ↑Nov 30th, 2024, 7:32 pm That is great news. Another option for charging in the Okanagan-Similkameen. Northvolt in Sweden just declared bankruptcy
a big problem is the battery plant produces too much environmental waste
add up the cost of mining lithium and EVs are terrible for the environment
EV is a religion, EV evangelists

EV's work for a small amount of users, however most if not all EV owners have also an ICE vehicle.blackdog777 wrote: ↑Nov 30th, 2024, 7:32 pm That is great news. If EV's and their power supply were not heavenly subsidized, there wouldn't hardly be any.
Furthermore if EV's had to be charged by personally generating the power from renewable sources, wind and or solar, without any taxpayers funded grands, the economic payout would take 40 years. With a best before date for the batteries being about 8 years and replacement required, EV's are like putting the horse behind the card.

No. not at all, there is a CBC article mentioning the bankruptcy here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal ... -1.7390023
And a global news one here:
https://globalnews.ca/news/10881993/nor ... cy-filing/
It's just more tailored to the effect in Canada.
