With the cost of living I don't know how any tax hikes could ever be approved. It should be tax reductions until things somehow get equal with at least the generation of our parents. General humanity is on the verge of standing up and throwing the Monopoly game board onto the floor! I wouldn't want to be on the side of the greedy that's all I'm saying.

Taxes will rise every year. A 6.65% is keeping pace with inflation. This is a responsible increase.

Over 2 years ago Peachland held a Referendum seeking approval from our community to replace our aging fire station.
The pending increase in our property taxes of 6.65%, is only the beginning as other municipal taxes have yet to be included...transit, police, water meter replacement, hiring for another HR position, housing projects, lifeguards....no mention of the status/progress of the new fire station at the most recent council meetings that I have read.....?

A good post Barb; Peachland has put so many other projects ahead of the new fire hall - such as the water treatment plant and the seniors housing. The site for the new fire hall was purchased over 25 years ago.haleybarb wrote: ↑Dec 4th, 2024, 9:51 am Over 2 years ago Peachland held a Referendum seeking approval from our community to replace our aging fire station.
