Re: Kamloops expected to be short on five-year goal in latest housing needs report
There shouldn't be a government driven push for housing... the real world doesn't work that way.
If people think Kamloops is a nice place to live, they should find a home and a job that will support the cost of that home.
When builders find they can sell/rent future homes for an amount that provides a return on investment, they will build the homes.
If they cannot find that combination in Kamloops, they should look elsewhere.
Government should facilitate, not mandate.
Communism does not work, no matter how many times or what form has been tried, it is a utter failure ever single time.

Less temporary foreign workers
Less international students
Less international non-Canadians working past their student Visas
Less illegal immigrants
= more places for CANADIANS to live and REDUCED COSTS.

Which part of this housing report is communism? Can you expand on how providing developer incentives is communist? Exactly where did Kamloops control all the industries and production and retain ownership of everyone's house (no private land ownership in communism).jfrankbc wrote: ↑Dec 11th, 2024, 7:36 am There shouldn't be a government driven push for housing... the real world doesn't work that way.

Back when I was a kid people used to buy land and put a trailer on it and build houses themselves. It was actually doable before permits started to cast $1.2million before you were allowed to stick a shovel in the ground

Government can't plan a party for one and needs to get back to serving the needs of those who pay taxes.

You got to be careful using the word "communism" on here. It really triggers some.jfrankbc wrote: ↑Dec 11th, 2024, 7:36 am There shouldn't be a government driven push for housing... the real world doesn't work that way.
