Chief Maquinna and his tribe massacred an entire crew of British sailors at Nootka on a ship called the the Boston . All except two sailors who were held against their will as slaves. The true story is in the book called the Journal of John Jewitt. The tribe was invited on board the ship under the pretense of trade. They were told to be unarmed but hid knifes under their clothes. John Jewitt was spared because he was the armorer. Later another sailor was discovered hiding under some sails. His life was only spared when Jewitt claimed that he was his father. Jewitt was able to move about freely but was always watched. After a couple of years another ship showed up. The Chief wanted to repeat the massacre and told Jewitt to write a note asking if they could come aboard. He instead wrote a note saying he was being held captive. The ship opened fire with canons and Jewitt was rescued. A very interesting read in Jewitts own words.

Oh but we have to believe in the oral history passed down by generations. We all know that stories as they are passed around never change. Yeah right!
Enough already. Planning for decades. I call BS. But just my opinion of course.

Just amazing how the BC government have abandoned 94% of the people in British Columbia, to award the remaining 6% special rights, including the right to VETO land and resource development, defying the spirit and intent of the UNDRIP protocols, that we all have the same rights and opportunities, including the Indigenous people.

Allocating land owned by everyone to only people of a particular race is wrong. Doing it because of historical wrong does not make it right.

Is it surprising why so many residents have a negative view of FN peoples. Just another classic example of legal action with hands out sayin "send more cash please and lots of it or we will block roads, railways, and bridges until we blackmail you into compliance.
They articulate very clearly that current landowners etc are not included but that is a ruse. What is the significance of not claiming the house that whitey lives in when your other demands take away his only method of employment and sustenance and thus ability to stay where whitey is. There isn't and excluding current landowners is just a ruse for the FN's to walk onto your property, take over the assets, and claim title because you defaulted because you could no longer make a living there because the resources are FN controlled.
Between panty wearing Prime Minister and the endless FN claims and rhetoric, it might be time to suck it up and leave this Country and leave the FN's with their technology and hard work ethic to fend for themselves.

And as time goes by the only exception to banning gun ownership seems to be to indigenous peoples . One group allowed to own certain weapons for sustenance. Feel safer now?

It's time to tell them they are not a nation, they are part of the nation of Canada. And since when did nations have 600, 800 or even 2000 people?
Time to get tough.

Politicians are giving away Canada that all Canadians have built.
Indians count for less than 5% possible votes yet they are taking everything and have contributed so little.
Chinese were the first Humans to cross from Russia so why are they not First Nations?
