Trump will not call for tarriffs but he will not withdraw the threat of tarriffs, he will continue to use it as a negotiating tool for the new CUSMAl, he likes to negotiate from a position of power. he will enjoy it the whole time.

What do you expect him to say? I'm shaking in my boots? He would never admit fear or defeat. He can't. Just the way he is.

Someone needs to sit Trump down and explain the difference between a subsidy and a trade deficit. There's no subsidy.

Trump said he would only do this if Canada did not stop the illicit drugs coming in from Canada and to ensure our borders were better controlled. Something that would improve the lives of both Canadians and Americans. So why isn`t Canada trying to do this rather than have temper tantrums and threatening retaliation?

Because that's all liberals know is childish temper tantrums if they don't get their way. Look at the meltdowns they had when Trump won the election... supposed adults behaving like actual toddlers screaming at the sky and stomping their feet. Our inept politicians won't admit they have no clue how to do their jobs, so they throw childish hissy fits like this.

Improving the lives of the populace is at the very bottom of their agenda... if it's even on there at all.

Trump's right to brush off the threats of some loser third world country like Cana-duh.

Ford is conservative, and he's right to push back..rolling over for Trump will just show him he can demand whatever he wants and Canada will bend the knee. People are ignorantly thinking this time it's great for Canada too, but there will be a next threat by Trump then the next and we cannot just willingly give the USA whatever they demand because they threaten tarriffs. At what point does it stop? And what about the time it's not good for Canadians such as loss of water rights?
