Can anyone tell me the with the hot bed of forest fires in BC, why we don’t have any CL415 water bomber in this Province. Is this how the NDP government looks at our resources and prioritize our needs, when are we going to see a province that cares about our natural resources and people.

Dear Tom and Don. Here’s some actual facts you might want to consider before commenting in a snide manner:
— jurisdictions respond to specific mutual aid requests, they don’t just send off equipment and firefighters willy nilly
— BC appears to have a diverse fleet of aircraft under long term contract to fight fires. Perhaps the CL-415 is not as flexible or would be redundant. Or maybe the current contracts were signed by the Liberals.
— how could one plane model help restore safety in forests mismanaged for 150 years. Diverse, resilient, multi-aged forests have been replaced by unthinned, single species (cloned) plantations susceptible to pests, fire and drought. Not to mention too many structures embedded in the forest that divert firefighting resources. There’s no magic bullet or plane.
