I suppose you gotta know what constitutes as a 'trip'. Can multiple trips exist in a one-time rental? Also, do we subtract the 'trips'' made by the vehicles that travel around picking scooters up for recharging and maintenance?

Could it be that no vehicle trips are eliminated and people travel more including the use of scooters?

This is off City of Kelowna's website - Refering to the e-scooters. The Micromobility Permit Program is self-funding. There is no taxation associated with the program. Operators pay an annual permit fee to offset costs related to managing the City tasks associated with the program.

I do t know why so many people dislike the scooters?? Before I had my car I used them all the time!! I would bus to Queensway station and hop on one to work in the lower mission! They are great and also great for date nights!!

Talk to any E.R. doctor and they will tell you the stats on how dangerous these things are; ESPECIALLY when boneheads renting them won't wear helmets! They are costing us ALL in extra medical bills in the hospitals. Its not Rocket Science.

And are the ones in suits wearing helmets and abiding by rules of the roads? From what I've seen, very few people play by the rules while riding these dangerous "things".
