I was part of a team that developed pilot project for this twenty yrs ago. Too bad there was no funding then. Could have saved a fortune many times over and lives.

The last thing this community needs is another drug treatment facility for the minority.It is also not for the local council to provide mental health facilities, it is their function to provide for and service the local tax payers.
The minority, of whoever, do not overrule the majority, welcome to the basis of democracy.
All government has no money of its own, it is the public, tax payers money to be utilised for their benefit and services firstly………

All of the Okanagan cities via their mayors are calling for this treatment centre to service their communities. It does not have to be built in Kelowna.

So it's been suggested before! There wasn't the motivation back then to make it happen, now's the time, throw your support behind this current initiative. Red Fish is an actual place not a pie in the sky idea, real results can be pulled from the people who have transitioned through the place.

Far away from the temptations available in the cities. BC and Canada have enough land to find acres suitable. Teach real life skills of self reliance, independence, personal responsibility , accountability, survival. hunting, foraging and growing a food supply to survive.
No shrinks needed, but a program requiring physical health and working 12 plus hours per day, so good and tired and no time to think about the vises and temptations of addiction.
If addiction is needed, let it be a survival addiction in the bush, far away from temptation.
So Kelowna mayor, service your people, instead of the regressive "progressives" addicted to the WEF ideology.

Alberta has had quite a bit of success with rehabilitation focus rather than harms reduction. Overdoses way down.

Build what you want it will never be enough with the current policy of easy access to drugs for addicts. Bring back the stigma that was associated with being a useless junkie and at least it may scare away a few from ever trying.
