Don’t let the City of West Kelowna manage the project. Seen what happened to City Hall!

OPINION:
First, everyone, whether they rent or own property of the Westside would help pay for the community hall. Second, every major project by the city has huge cost overruns; City Hall, Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant and promises broken. And even after those projects were 'embraced' and 'celebrated' by the very people that ran up huge debts with the province; the same people that voted themselves huge self-serving insulting pay increases, and the same ones that voted more huge increases to upgrade a City Hall where the paint just dried (whose construction budget went from $18,000,000.00 to over $27,000.000.00, and water treatment plant the went from $52,000,000.00 cost to over $72,000,000.00 and counting are the very people that put us all, and our grandchildren's grandchildren in super-debt.

Say No and vote in a responsible council before asking for more money. They already booted out Brownies, Scouts,, Girl Guides and Air Cadets, raised the user fees and put a ex councilor in charge of the takeover.

Stop, Look and use Extreme Caution with these people. I wouldn't put it past any of them to grab a cop and walk in to a home a have the police eject the longtime residents (Hint, as the kids say "Google it" or as a adult, use a search engine and look it up).

Glenrosa and Shannon Lake associations have easier access to the Westbank Lions Hall and is cheaper than raising everyone's taxes for a new building that will likely be another 3rd of the cost higher than it should be.

Look what they did to the Lions' Hall, and Lakeview Heights Community Hall. Community youth programs like Guides and Scouts no longer have a good place to meet at no cost.

Too, it appears it has killed the Lakeview Heights Community Association group as well. A new Hall is being built, to a building taxpayers just funded renovations for.

They haven't given me any reason to trust any of them - at least, not any more.

Pop Quiz: Which politician said 'and it won't cost the taxpayer any money' and it cost the taxpayer a lot more than than budgeted?

Nope!

CWK is still fixing the 'completed' water treatment plant and city hall. The mayor, council and city staff are incapable of successfully completing any infrastructure.

AND not there no how no way. Shannon Lake Rd is already getting dangerous and the new development hasn't even any tenants yet.

Just say no to dopes.

Everything this empire building government touches goes over budget and not by just a few pesos.

They need to stop unnecessary spending like this Happy Place and focus on paying debt and providing good basic municipal services. No more getting bronze plaques bolted to tax paid building so as to show their grandkids their name on the building grampa built.

Don't forget that 6 months later they can't even get the street lights working on the new section of Shannon Lake Road. Total incompetence.
