Toxic work environment all around at TRU. Just google the president's name and check out his history. The toxic environment carries on down from that. Check out Glassdoor and Indeed to see what former employees are saying.

Re: Trial dates set in wrongful dismissal suit of fired senior TRU executive
(Edit) Recently, I looked up to see if TRU had a University Act, thinking I would see something in the way of strong words underscoring a university's obligation to prevent bias, indoctrination, (---) or propaganda (---) from creeping in & ruining what should be a completely safe, acumen-oriented & secular skills-driven academic environment. And although it appears that TRU has a University Act, it's a University Act that doesn't seem to say anything about a Canadian citizen's Constitutional rights, protections & obligations being priority No. 1 while the citizen is on TRU property. May I ask why? Are federal benefits & responsibilities assumed to be guaranteed, meted out perhaps by way of an "honour system?" What would it take to blend TRU's University Act with Canada's Charter & Criminal Code? (Is the article about Mr. Phillips & Mr. Milovick's academic freedoms being misunderstood by TRU Associates, who perhaps weren't sophisticated enough to know the difference between true disparagement, & criticising, as in critical-thinking? Is my Comment here related to the article in any way (?)) While doing my search, I was directed to the TRU Harassment & Discrimination Policy, which, if nothing else, doesn't seem to mandate character background checks for TRU Staff, *so that unsafe people aren't likely to be employed at TRU where they'd spread their toxins. Is it time, finally, to put the kibosh on any notion that a student goes to university to achieve "social success," something that isn't real, & instead indicate they're there to develop a set of empirical skills? Wouldn't that message be better, at least for Aboriginal students & students who may not know what it's like to live under the Rule of Law? And couldn't any students or Community Members (eg, interested non-students) attend TRU to learn Foreign Languages, Languages of Antiquity, Cultural Attunements, an Outfitter's survival skills & world faith-doctrines in a structured, factual way? <3 -Renee K.
