It was a loophole to evade tariffs, and was heavily abused by Alibaba and other majors in China who ship direct to consumer. Looks like a lot of Canadian companies also leveraged that loophole.
Additionally, small packages will now be inspected, which is aimed at finding illicit drugs being shipped.
Only 4 options left; charge more, move to the U.S., find a way to cut costs and lower prices, quit. No easy road ahead.
