Develop a mountain bike trail network, Don. It’s a great hill for it and closer than the big hills so surely you’d attract business

I'm still not clear on the plan. Anyway I doubt the snow is reliable enough nowadays, unlike the old Last Mountain era! I like the idea of a bike park and maybe a zip line/ adventure park.

The idea of a mountain bike trail system and terrain park is a very good idea. With the popularity of E mountain bikes coming more on stream, Bull mountain would be perfect and closer to a large population. The trails would also work for hikers and give easier access to snowshoers and skiers for winter activities. Just a thought, but maybe try and work with the local MTBCO, this is a very well run group of keen cyclists. Maybe even a collaboration with your neighbours at Telemark for some summer cycling trails that connect to Bull Mountain for cross country riding and hiking.

How stable is a "business venture" that has to beg for donations via gofundme? :135:

A proper business would present a business plan to a lender. Something's not kosher, IMO.

did you read what Don wrote on the go fund me page ? he explains everything very clearly, he's also spent a lot of his own money, he's a Local that wants to give back to his community by making Bull Mountain Adventure Park into something that Locals and Families can enjoy- he's not some rich Winery Owner begging for a government welfare check- he's doing this all on his own  and this town needs more Locals like him

Grey Fox Brewing was started as a Kickstarter venture. It is now an award winning business. I think that sometimes going with a grassroots venture can help build a more sustainable business model that is not beholden to lenders that many times are just caring about a profit and not actually giving a **** about the customers.

A proper business wouldn't abandon it's property for several years and leave it to rot. Don started with a shovel at the front gate and just started digging. And digging. And digging. And then fought to keep it from being raised by the Regional District and then removed tens of thousands of pounds of garbage left behind by the ownership. With keeping it a community ski recreation area always at the forefront. People have no clue the blood sweat and tears that went into what it is now. Nobody else would ever have the drive and will and craziness to do what Don has done. Nobody.

Mountain Bike trails! One to the top, and at least one all the way down, connecting into Powers Creek/Smith Creek. Maybe tie into Telemark XC too!
Bull Mountain needs to pair up with MTBCO to make this happen.

I agree the mountain biking would be great, but unfortunately unsustainable for a daily venture, good for a yearly event. All in with insurance the lifts would be at least $500 an hour to run, I honestly can't see the ski hill being able to afford that unless people are willing to pay large for a day pass, and hundreds are here per day. E-bikes are great, rentals would be ok, but how to charge people to ride their bikes here? I let people ride their bikes here as is. The airsoft runs all year, but the ski hill is only 4 months, over 1000 players have played since we opened BMAP 2 years ago, the airsoft sustains the skiing, I would close skiing completely if I didn't see the importance to the community, thusly if I get an investor in I would be giving up a big share of BMAP airsoft. The ski hill will lose money guaranteed, it always has, so if people don't donate there won't be skiing here and another generation of kids will grow up without a local hill. The airsoft is fun for families and safe, we have not had one injury, it's enviromentaly friendly and inexpensive to run. The crossover between skiirs, snowboarders to airsoft and visa versa happens all the time, it's a great community and growing all the time.
