There are rules and guidelines in place, but the city can decide when to forgo those. In other words, you can pay to avoid the rules. Nothing new to see here.

In Kelowna you are allowed to assault random strangers, shoplift, deal drugs , commit arson , smoke crack ANYWHERE you want , including beaches and playgrounds, BUT WHATEVER YOU DO …..DONT PARK YOUR VEHICLE ILLEGALLY !!!! That will get you in big trouble !! 🤔

Just go to the Neighborhoods that City Council has given a pass on providing parking for the development. Open your eyes and see the over crowed streets of cars. This theory of everyone is going to ride a bicycle is nuts... Suggest City Council all board a bus during non working hours and tour these completed developments and look at the vehicular mess they have created.

Kelowna developments- The city has blatantly said,"they don't care about enough parking spots. They want everyone to take their highly efficient transit system...(NOT). All these new apartments have no parking. In order to afford these overpriced boxes, both couples have to work. both need vehicles to go to work, shop, pick up kids (if they have kids) and multiple other errands they may need to do. But no! You are lucky if you get 1 parking stall per unit. Plus there is no parking for emergency vehicles. No parking for service vehicles. No parking for moving vehicles...and the drama continues. The parking lot at city hall is always full with city employee vehicles. Hmmm, Why don't they ride buses? "Do as I say, not as I do"

Hello City of Kelowna Council and Planning staff, you don't need a masters degree or a PHD to figure this one out.
How about some good old common sense!

Again the city in its ultimate wisdom believes that making more bike paths will solve the parking problem.

Maybe a castanet reported could do some actual investigating and discover how many employees at city hall ride a bike to work everyday?

Even the drug addled homeless person can understand that more bedrooms mean there are more cars. And they can also understand that allowing less than one car per unit (UBC downtown) is asinine.

1.5 parking stalls per 1 bedroom unit, 2.5 per 2 bedroom unit, 3.5 for any units greater than that for any condo the is NOT rental.
Add .5 stalls for each category if it's a rental condo.
There, I fixed it without the expensive of yet another waste of tax payers money.

We have zero interest of going to the down town core due to parking, $60 fine for over 3 minutes, what a joke!

Everyone working in city hall will never give up their taxpayer funded parking, cars and car services. Two faced jerks need to be taking the bus but they won't set the tone. They are special!

Those who purchased a Condo without parking stall will probably have trouble reselling.

Get rid of bylaw offices completely, as they serve no purpose. A waste of money funding those twits.
