Make a business case to support the influx of tourists. Start smaller, a quarter of sites you're proposing. Bank funds to invest in infrastructure and public service investments to support controlled growth.

Demonstrate economic benefits, local job creation, and offer revenue-sharing models to disperse the economic benefits. Get other businesses in

And people wonder why our dollar is so low...

BC seriously needs more campgrounds. This should be allowed to go forward.

Government bureaucracy at work once again. I hope you can obtain the approval for a much needed campsite like this.

Sounds like a case of "Not In My Back Yard" and government bureaucracy killing any growth. Deny, deny, deny and kick the can so far down the road that going forward with the business becomes impossible.

Or maybe it’s just another case of a deep-pocketed developer from the Lower Mainland who buys a property knowing it’s not zoned for his desired purpose, but assumes a bunch of rural property owners won’t be aware enough of local zoning laws to stand in his way.

NYMBYism this may be, but I’m pretty certain that if this campground was going in your backyard (literally) you’d want it stopped too.

V That comment sounds exactly like what a Director o& the CSRD would say. A generalized visual of a business( falsely described) Do you know where he is from? Do you know what his bank statement says? Have you met and talked with him? He’d like to chat. He’s friendly and generous with his time.

Have you been up there for a tour?
You are welcome, it’s a beautiful place.

Not one campsite comes close to any home on the shore. This is not your regular campsite on flat land. This is a mountain bikers, hikers, and campers paradise! For generations, this could be renowned for the amazing family vacations.

Tourism in the Shuswap is very important to the livelihoods of thousands of residents. Aren’t jobs important either?
