Trade negotiations with potential trading partners should be a standard process in today's world and not a knee- jerk reaction.

Name a Canadian lentil brand. Industry should be require to sell their products in Canada before shipping outside our borders. I'm sick of eating farmed seafood from other countries and at a premium to boot!

To add to the previous comment by Moeyou; the latest threat is just one in a series of conflicts going back well into the previous NAFTA agreement. I can remember when the U.S. caused panic in the Canadian softwood industry on more than just one occasion.

"Long Sought..."
"LONG SOUGHT???"
Canadians have become the fat, happy, pigs, lazily making the easiest trade around. For decades. Any business that sells 80% of its products to a SINGLE buyer... and doesn't think twice about, is due for a severe wakeup call.
Suggesting politicians have been warning Canada for years is like suggesting that lazy pig was never bound to become bacon. Relying on politicians to solve our economic mistakes (which they handily created and supported) is like handing over your dignity to the institution that sees you as tax revenue.
The best time to pull our heads out of the sand, use our talents and resources, become entrepreneurial athletes, and take charge of our own future passed decades ago. The second best time to start is today.

the lpc/ndp, Trudeau/Singh tag team, Almost 10 years late and $1 Trillion short", added to the Canadian debt load for future generations to pay.
But now not only taking about inter provincial trade and Canadian energy security, they talk about the utility corridor, to run pipelines , power lines and other utility functions west-east-west
They rejected this, when proposed by the Harper Government, something that could have been emplace now.
Not only for domestic, but could also services other trade partners & countries not only in North America,
but other continents, to diversify our trade partners with more options to sell Canadian energy.
However these regressive progressive WEF cult slaves rejected Harper's proposal and campaigned against it.
They used a $16.00 Glass of Orange juice ordered by one of the ministers then, when on an international conference, representing Canada. the cbc kept this in the fear and propaganda, hourly broadcasting for weeks, about 10.
The lpc now gamble on "Tax all carbon Carney" himself a Top Dog in the WEF, to run the new lpc campaign on.
Lets NOT FORGET as this WEF regressive "sheep in WOLFS cloths" could try to turn Canada into the 51st state.
This because the US doesn't want a neighbour, for safety, security and protection of the borders and continent,
who bows to the WEF Fourth Reich totalitarian regime, like Carney does.
