Nothing wrong with being a USA citizen. I think it would overall be a benefit for us Canadians.

Some REALLY need to read their grade 11 Social Studies text books again...the last time the Americans used these types of policies was prior to the Great Depression and the cost of correction on their economy was huge. Making mistakes of the past is not how you fix the problems of today.

For Kristobal

To become a US citizen from Canada, you must meet certain requirements, including:
Age: Be at least 18 years old
Residency: Have been a permanent resident of the US for at least 30 months within the last 60 months
Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of US history and culture
Language: Demonstrate proficiency in English
Moral character: Be of good moral character, meaning you don't have a history of violent crimes
State residency: Have resided in the same state where you intend to apply for citizenship for at least three months
You can apply for US citizenship by filing form N-400. The application fee ranges from $380–$760, depending on whether you file online or by paper.

Pretty simple. If you need financial help in order to exit Canada to your new home I would suggest you set up a Go Fund Me account.

Have a nice life in the US.

In light of threats from Trump to take over Canada perhaps a sign of our displeasure should be generated and I would like to see our Troops fully armed at our border crossings so that when an American crosses into Canada they will be stopped and checked by that military blockade and asked a few questions. Have them do the spread eagle on their vehicle while being frisked and documents checked. Next to the road have a tank or howitzer fully manned. A nice visual so Americans can see we are serious.

There is going to be a lot of pain caused by Trump on both sides of the border. Economies love stability. Trump just keeps throwing wrenches into gears.

The must be some things that can be export restricted in the name of National Security. The only problem being , Canada can't defend itself and relies on others.

The United States doesn't only have a trade deficit with Canada but also an fiscal deficit. It's going to be a bit challenging for them to buy the nation that actually provides them with the funds into the first place. I side with those who propose Canada shrug it off and limit counter tarriffs.

Blaming Justin Trudeau for worldwide tariffs is placing way too much importance on Justin Trudeau.
