Any phone number with a 647 area code out of Ontario appears to be the latest. Watch out for that.

Any area code is suspect, many a scammer using 250 area codes it's easy to spam ip or phone numbers. Common sense is the best approach, but these vermin attack many of our elderly that may be diminished, and have trust in systems and people. I wish they could have that trust like the good ole days.

The best way to avoid being scammed is to ignore all emails , texts , and phone calls from senders that you are unfamiliar with. If you do happen to answer a phone call and you are pretty certain that it’s a scammer , go and grab your hand held air horn can and blast it into the phone . Those scammers get pretty upset when ya do that . Lol 🤣🤣

Are the police available if someone schedules a pickup? That would be doing their hob.

There is no point calling the police . They will not waste their time trying to arrest scammers , because as we all know , the judges , prosecutors, crown attorneys, etc…. will just give the scammer a hand shake & a pat on the back , and then release them with no charges and no jail time .

This is not new. It happened to my husband almost 2 years ago ( he had dementia). I was lucky enough to catch what was happening. He had a person's name and phone # to call when he had the money. I called the police and they told me there was nothing they could do, for me to report it to the fraud #, which after about 2 hrs of not getting through to, I gave up. I thought the police would have meet with the scumbag and given him/her a warning at the least! Another stupid reason laws need to be changed!
