Security under pressure from the US is Finally, after 9.5 years of open borders, allowing some legitimate, but mostly undesirables under the lax refugee status policies implemented by Trudeau, to find free room & board and operation headquarters in Canada, finally forced Trudeau, the lpc/ndp regime to do something.
That policy had a great effect on the fabrication of fentanyl based drugs, with supplies shipped in from China and labs and international distributions, controlled by international cartels and gangs.
Furthermore, again Canada's lax laws and enforcement allowed this, plus large scall money laundering,
all under blind eye Trudeau.
On top, allowing foreign political interference, especially those, in all levels of government, with origan, interests or connections with these hostile regimes.
Along with Canada's dismal capacity to protect our common and the three ocean borders, efforts to protect North & Central America and our commitments to NATO, are the main reasons the new US administration
threatened Canada with tariffs.
Alberta took this serious and immediately after the election results in the US, allocated funds to increase security and safety at the Alberta US borders, however finally Trudeau and his lpc/ndp cohorts under pressure, had no choice, being it only the very first step, next will be the safe heaven for fentanyl, international cartels, gangs and terrorists. to be followed by changing our dei scout troops into a military force to meaningful and proportionally assist the US military to protect North & central America and commitments to NATO and other international efforts.
This directive gives the Border guards the power to stop undocumented from coming in and cancel visa's for suspected terrorists, gang and cartel members.

Good for the Provinces to step in and represent. I have been impressed with the overall calm response to the pace of the Trump administration's policy shock technique. The Canadian reality is finally accepting the undeniable truth of Canada's freeloading, back seat driving, and lip service that has been annoying our allies for many years. Borders, immigration, ports, rail and NATO are real concerns and our political and media response has been a denial of the reality and hard truths. Reality is the only mind reading talent necessary. Governments should not base policy on opinions. Time for responsibility and growth. SAILINGONE well put! check out Canada needs to do more. Jan 17th letters to editor. I do not like Trump. Full stop. Canada needs to handle the truth, get over it and grow up. Nobody likes it when being called out creates a cry baby. In this case, the "Orange man" has a good point.
