Canada is on the same debt path as the US.
"Canada's national debt per capita is $3,813 worse than the United States and only $2,896 better than in- solvent Greece" .
The next Federal Government must clean house and lower our debt or we could be an easy target for a takeover.

Re: Trump's reciprocal tariffs will overturn decades of trade policy
Trump’s proposal for reciprocal tariffs marks a major shift in U.S. trade policy, aiming to match the tariffs imposed by other countries. While the goal is to reduce trade deficits, many economists warn that it could lead to higher costs for consumers and increase global trade tensions. There’s also a risk of retaliation from trade partners, which could further disrupt international markets.

You can not trust this reporting, they are bought and paid for by the government. Look for independent media for less biased opinions

"Clean house" ? that is a mild statement, more like, must be de-infested from all taxpayers funded purely bureaucratic, wasteful and no achieving activities.moeyou wrote: ↑Feb 15th, 2025, 4:02 am Canada is on the same debt path as the US.

As soon as the wasted hundreds of thousands of useless government funded payroll positions have been eliminated, our military must be completely rebuild and lowering the excessive tax loads, with the the tax dollars saved.
Remove all those unnecessary bureaucratic roadblocks to bring back lost investment opportunities to rebuild the economy from a wealth consuming to a wealth producing economy.

Trump the saviour. He is responsible for $8 trillion of the current debt — all created with his tax cuts for billionaires in his first term. Now he wants to add another $4 trillion with more tax cuts for billionaires and wants the debt ceiling eliminated for his term. That math doesn’t work. How is screwing the middle class saving them?
