When are they going to make arson a crime with serious consequences?? Probably never unfortunately. 😞

Police are apparently looking for dashcam footage, making it sound like they're investigating. Hey guys, remember that time when police had access to a tracking device leading directly to the tent with the stolen climbing gear and did nothing?!? I remember when they had high definition footage of the homeless lady that stole $15,000 of camera equipment from a vehicle and police somehow never came up with anything! She must have disappeared deep into tent city where police can't find any stolen goods whatsoever! Of course, just like the climbing gear theft, it was given to an officer on his "days off", so investigating anything was simply for necessary paperwork. I guess if they show how many calls there are of crime, they'll at least get another raise.

Meth. again.

Look at what Canada has become. I hope in the next election people actually vote for the health of this country and not just for the virtuous promises and climate nonsense or the team they have always cheered for. Its odd that my 90's liberal ideas make me far right now....Can we save the country, put bad people in jail and make them work, get rid of drugs/gangs and organized crime interference and form a cohesive society again. We can "save" the climate later..it can wait 8 years....

It's a stat holiday πŸ™„. Seems the finger pointers are still beaking off. Let' just blame the homeless and addicts for everything. Yes, they all want the attention of the authorities...so they light massive fires to keep warm or cook drugs. HUGE eye roll here.

I didn't see they caught the person and a charge or punishment was determined. Can you send that link please?

The way I see it fire and the expenditure of manpower and resources is in the war manual of all sorts of war cultures. Could be an attack.

It's called common sense and
I'm not the one making accusations towards people without all the evidence.

"Common sense" is to blame the obvious problem that the authorities have created and then do nothing about. Governments ENABLE crime by letting addicts congregate together, supplying tents instead of a rehab facility, supplying drugs instead of a rehab facility, and not having police stop any of their crimes when all kinds of stolen goods are kept at those tents. When mindless fires start, it's easy to blame the mindless people enabled by the mindless authorities!

Sorry, previous poster meant to say 'good sense', not common sense, since it seems the sense that is commonly used here is anything but well-developed.

The Canadian Tire fire showed burnt tires. The Rona one was set against composite deck boards. Neither of these are good fuel to start fires, nor do they make for good 'keep warm' fires. Someone set these in fenced compounds, likely on purpose. That's why they're calling it "suspicious". Maybe it was a homeless person, maybe not. You don't know. If you did have actual evidence or psychic premonitions, take it to the police. Until we find out any different, maybe stop trying to present your flimsy assumptions as fact to save space for an adult with something constructive to say.

If someone does have evidence, and the cops still don't do anything... Then we got something to complain about. Again.

OK Tire fires, last time I was in West Palm Beach Florida, I got really good at doing my own laundry - my poster bed made a good clothesline... DOGE at the RCMP, even in Kelowna would be awesome, confused though, is RCMP in Kelowna out of jurisdiction in West Kelowna? Separate taxes for locals... Great subs at Rocket Subs - Morty is not bad - Italian BMT still my fave
