The Ministry has been inconsistent in providing grants up to 2017 so the districts have been left to the mercy of inflation. Education should be provided free to the student but the process is not free.

Sadly this will most likely result in more traffic around schools as people ignore the math that the fees are too high and driving the kiddos to school and home will be cheaper. In effect meaning more children will think that driving everywhere is the only solution. [expletive deleted]

Canada is short of children and the school district puts a tax on children. This is SO WRONG. Busing fees are a tax on the children that we need for our future. The school district should be demanding that the Province fund free busing to schools. It would reduce the number of cars and be a great lesson in using public transit. Instead they just take the easy way out and stick it to parents trying to make ends meet; very sad.

This is outrageous and disgusting. Kids need to get to school and charging $650 a month for 1 kid to get to school is disgusting. Shame on SD23! Start by leaning out the fat by cutting the salaries of the directors ect!

This is SD23 getting out of the transport business. The effects are traffic jams at school drop offs and pick ups, a more car-centric culture, and reduced service. Frustrating. No wonder we've switched to BC Transit passes.

It's $650 a year for the busing and $650 a month when they get to 18 and you buy them a pickup truck!

Can't many of the kids walk to school? How far away from school does a child have to live in order to be qualified to be bussed? Years, (and years), ago I remember walking to school that was a mile away. Maybe nowadays there are not enough schools? Forgive my ignorance; I am trying to understand the problem.
