I can only dream what the head staff of ICBC earns
It’s probably a lot higher than useless Eby, and I bet they all get a very nice bonus for screwing everyone

$ 450,756 in 2024 which is actually $50K less than the outgoing CEO.Noshortageofdrivers wrote: ↑Feb 18th, 2025, 5:59 am I can only dream what the head staff of ICBC earns

Instead of dreaming what they make, just open your eyes and look, its all public information that takes 2 seconds to find:

The doors on ICBC should be closed and private insurance should take over. All the of ICBC executives should be fired with zero severance.

If ICBC is bound by these privacy rules and they won't show up 'unannounced' and start accessing computer systems, why don't they just put that in writing? Seems pretty cut and dried to me. They want to be able to prevent over billing, fine. They don't get access to anyone else's data. If the engineers at Jane app can't figure out how to filter files by insurance provider, then stop using Jane app. I bet they'd figure out how to do it real fast if they started losing business.

The SAD part of this story is you wont realize how ICBC has changed until your in an ACCIDENT. ZERO FAULT Insurance is for the benefit of ICBC... NOT YOU! The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia is now an organization that takes as much as they can from you and does everything to give back as little as possible... have an accident and find out yourself first hand!

Sure. Let’s let the privateers in like in Alberta so we can pay an average of
$3151 instead of $1775. Perhaps it’s your driving record, accident history and poor vehicle choices that are the problem. My rates are quite affordable now — thanks to the NDP not using ICBC as a cash machine like the Liberals did.
We’d all pay even less if the men in comically large trucks and hyper-charged vehicles slowed down and caused fewer accidents. (Oh I know, anyone driving the speed limit is just letting the government take their freedoms away.)

Soon to be like WCB where they dictate treatment , try to starve claimants out , no right to sue , everything based on entitlement. Just another socialist welfare scam?

ICBC already dictates care.
I'm recovering from being hit when someone blew through a red light, and was cut off from one of the treatment providers I was going to, in direct opposition to my doctor saying I still needed it. They just try to hide that they're doing it by saying they've decided you're 'functional' enough. As noted by the physio in the article, they don't count being in pain as not being functional (in my world the two are inseparable).

If ICBC have changed something then it is to save themselves money and screw the motorist. That's all they ever do

ICBC is just one more corrupt government institution that only serves the executives and does little in way of meeting the needs of the people who pay their salaries.
Just like the heath authorities and school districts, the over inflated salaries and useless positions that bring no value, reek to high heaven when you consider the excessive salaries with the complete lack of transparency and non delivery of services.
I am not sure when the tipping point will come, but sooner or later tax payors must step up and voice their opinions during election cycles to demand our elected officials serve us, not themselves. Take care of our own first, and then others. Use and manage our resources to benefit us, and not a corporate profiteer.
Sadly us complaining on forums isn't going to change much, we need to stand up and speak up during the election cycle, and follow up on the promises made and broken.

Re: Some physiotherapists fear ICBC changes will hurt crash victims
ICBC ran just fine for 45 years while paying out big money settlements . now those days are done and they are still finding ways to nickel and dime people to death . if they could afford to pay people 100k for an accident and my premiums were 110 a month why are they still 110 a month and they are no longer forking out cash? seems like they saved millions upon millions every year since they changed their system but the savings dont really transfer over to the citizens . they said they were going to provide exemplary care to the injured to get them back to normal faster and more efficiently but now they are even trying to chip away at that. so now you get no settlement plus your care is sub par and dependant on some knob behind a desk who just wants to get your case closed as fast as he can . there has to be a better way of doing things. at some point they have to give up the monopoly and let some competition in here .if there is only one provider they can be as crappy as they want and there is zero recourse
