No problem for Trump, his wine and champagne at his golf trips and events is covered by the taxpayers of the USA. Price just doesn't matter to him.

I heard a rumour that an American company is buying up many of our Okanagan wineries. The most recent, sadly one of my favourites - See Ya Later Ranch. It's going to be really hard to boycott them. Or - should we??

Interesting that the Americans have a champagne industry. What a crock, if it ain’t made in the champagne region it ain’t champagne, bit like scotch.

Ironic that he uses border security as his excuse for tariffs then creates an environment that is ripe for smuggling operations to start up.

Rich Americans are not going to be satisfied with a sparking wine from California and the people selling it to them won't be able to resist being able to buy it tariff-free from organized crime groups.

What this bozo seems to not understand.....the USA...the USA is not, not the only game in the world of global economics. EU can live without the USA. Canada can live without the USA. Yes, there will be pain as each adjust to the reality of letting the USA go on their own. The average age of a "Empire/Nation" is somewhere in the realm of 250 years give or take......the USA is now at 249. Just sayin'.

Canada is going one step further; don't bother putting Tariffs on American Whiskey, just REMOVE it from all the shelves, period! Easy/Peasy; done deal. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Trump! [icon_lol2.gif]

Cut the USA off from every country in the EU, Canada and Mexico. Isolate them with 100% tariffs or closed borders. See the people of the USA panic then. Trump has to get real and realize that the world does not revolve around the USA.

Both champagne & scotch are not my cup of tea, but this tariff issue is just the foreplay, posturing and maneuvering in position, for a reset in geopolitics.
Protecting the safety and security of nations and territory, plus securing trade and supply,
for the wellbeing of one's nation, is all at issue here.
This joint protection effort for our democracies, in the free world, is at the center of these issues,
due to inequality in financial support and physical duty, to maintain the capacity to defend and strike out against any hostile threat. Equilibrium and equality in trade, is part of that negotiation.

The Western democracies have suffered under the globalist WEF, new world order, ideology and doctrine that has infected all of the democratic western-world, public institutions.
WEF Canadian top members, like Carney, Trudeau, singh, & eby, plus many members & followers, mainly found in the public governance, bureaucracy and the many services provided with taxes, have totally polarized the public institutions that suppose remain neutral.

This found traction especially after 2000, with huge increases in public control and narrative targeted spending, to maintain support for that quiet revolution.
To support the new world order reset, societies needed to be divided, polarized and social unrest was created, that left many cities in chaos, divided and polarized.
The wuhan gain of function experiment, initially swayed people to the left, enticed by free handouts,
but hind site, many people started to question the abuse of authority and basic human right violation, by the regimes who took advantage of that experiment.
Taxpayers funded media, spreading the new world narrative were paid to control the public media sphere.

Luckily the uprise of the silent majority, be it slow at first, found traction, due to the weird social construct doctrine and actions by the regressive revolutionaries.
This resulted in the biggest peaceful Canadian protest ever, from coast to coast.

The realities of the revolutionaries finally exposed itself, when many people struggled to make ends meet, suffered from hunger, cold, homelessness and insecurity.
The tipping point came with victims of the safe supply policies and programs that so far,
accounts for about 45,000 casualties. This was one of the most serious issues due to the fentanyl crisis

Donny, the new counter revolution wanna-be leader, is swinging his hammer wild, but is staying in his circle,
and only inflicting "storms in glasses of water", however his gaslighting efforts, has nations scrambling,
This has already had paybacks for the new administrating, especially in the equalization of the efforts to protect borders, with beefed up security, plus many commitments to significantly increases in military spending, to fall in line with the most powerful nation in the world.
Plus notice was given by Donny personally to the WEF and other WEF supporting world institutions.
The circumference of his swinging hammer has taking on, a less ideal and unpredictable circle, in the last couple months.
Hopefully his staff can tame "wild swinging Donny", so serious negotiations can begin with the few big the issues. All must keep in mind that it is just not safety, security, trade and free movement of spirits & wine, as each nation will try to lever for an ideal deal that will always include obtaining more POWER.
"over the spirit & wine bottle"?
