Good, he’s a horrible surgeon! He did one of my eyes last July, he put a plastic cloth over my nose and mouth that affected my breathing and he wouldn’t listen and my oxygen dropped below 70% and I started to panic and he freaked out, swearing at me, forcing my arm down, swearing like a filthy pig that he is! He then lied about my oxygen levels on his little report because he knows how badly he screwed up! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR! If you have to have eye surgery, go to Vancouver, don’t let this quack touch you.

All three doctors at that clinic are terrible. Shame we lost a great doctor when Dr. Jelfimow retired. Dr Ross will tell all patients they need surgery just to line his pockets. Get a second opinion if you can find someone not in that office.

Dr Ross is a horrible example of an "eye surgeon", my story mirrors the previous one, and there are others. to make matters worse, Interior Health will not allow other corneal, or retina specialists into the Kamloops market. closed shop...Dr Ross makes more $$$

Dr. Ross is an amazing doctor. I got excellent results after my cataract surgery. We are lucky to have him. It’s sad to see small minded people that are so miserable and have nothing better to do that are quick to put him down. Especially since he has done so much good for so many people. Thank you for your service and your great staff at your office and the Kamloops Surgical Center. Well done!

Dr Ross has left my neighbour nearly blind in her one eye for over a year now while doing a lens replacement. He let her leave the office twice with her eye pressure exceedingly above normal and she is now finally seeking recommendations elsewhere. He is clearly careless and does not acknowledge his mistakes or shortcomings and has left it go so long. I've been pushing her to sue him as well. Hoping she does.. It appears this is not uncommon with him.

I would be interested to know how Castanet decides which stories to open up for comment vs not. There is a pending lawsuit by one dissatisfied patient. Enough said. Instead, others are encouraged to contribute their two-bits worth. In my opinion, it’s inappropriate and unnecessary.
But since comments ARE open, here are my two-bits. Over the past few months, both my husband and I have had cataract surgery performed in both eyes by Dr. Ross. We’re both completely happy with the results and with the excellent care provided by Dr Ross and his staff from start to finish.

If a case has been filed in the courts then it's public knowledge. Anyone can find this information.Infogoddess wrote: ↑Mar 14th, 2025, 3:24 pm I would be interested to know how Castanet decides which stories to open up for comment vs not. And even if Castanet does not open it for comments, a story can be posted on the main board by any member, thereby opening the story for comments. Other social media sites are the same.
And after a little research on my part, I found numerous friends who have been to this doctor and it appears more than half had concerning issues.

Castanet is simply a social media page with a physical address. It is so disappointing that people misunderstand their role as what should be neutral media; the term journalism is too gratuitous. As most people should realize, “news” is a dying breed. Newspapers and mediums alike have taken a huge hit due to free and unregulated social media. It is plainly disgusting that castanet continues to publish stories that are clearly and plainly opinion pieces. This is harmful to the community and confusing for people who have historically relied on reputable outlets for their information. Sadly, the persons who ”report” on castanet’s platform do not follow the required and expected standards that other reputable media outlets abide by. Publishing any story without doing due diligence is desperate and potentially harmful. Doing so to create content is disgraceful.
At no point is there any due diligence by the “reporter” attempting to fact-check or source out the version of events from the person(s) indicated. They are merely providing a very public platform for one individual to vocalize an opinion. Unhappy people exist everywhere and it is disheartening and problematic that castanet continues to provide a platform for these people, all the while putting what comes off as a trusted header above their desperate content. Shame on you all for dirtying the industry you are active in.
