why did this take 3 days to get reported to the police? was the hospital trying to keep it quiet? that seems fishy . they would have had to file a WCB report right away for any potential injuries on the nurse . the police should have been called immediately .odds are there was one in the building .i have literally never been to the hospital and not seen a cop there . did the hospital try to cover this up and the union said no? seems fishy to me

People are talking silly. Every single province doesn't fund health properly and blames the feds. It's not an NDP thing at all. Heil Danielle is worse than anyone when it comes to public health, and she is a conservative. And when the report gets into the public has more to do with legal issues than hiding the incident. People have rights in this country still.

Most likely caused because of lax drug use law with even the government assisting druggies use! Like helping your child drink the poison they find then giving first aid when they react ! Where has common sense gone ?

Were this a 3rd world country, the bleep perpetrator would have been beaten to a pulp by bystanders or taken behind a dumpster and executed by the cops, which would be well deserved.

Assaults in BC hospitals and health care facilities have tragically been occurring for decades.
As a past health care professional, I have personally been assaulted in many different ways; including being "run through" by a car in the VJH parking lot in the early 90's over a 2 dollar parking fee.
Attacks are completely unacceptable and should never happen if healthcare was funded properly and administration was not so arrogant and uncaring for their employees.
The health care professional that was assaulted at VGH will never be the same.
This attack will live with them for the rest of their days.
Needless and unacceptable.
