The regulatory issues in BC surrounding the LNG industry are provincial, not federal as some would have you believe.
I do agree that the BC NDP love centralized and heavy restrictive bureaucracy, and that in itself is a problem.
On the flip side, there are cautionary lessons to be learned from the Australian LNG experience, where domestic price spikes and domestic shortages occurred. Especially in the context of much colder Canada where we have a large domestic need for natural gas.
The natural gas for export is not an unlimited resource, but we do already ship to the US...
