It would be a serious public service to disclose if that Diagnostic Radiologist that screwed up so badly is a 'Foreign Trained' individual given how many our government wants to employ in our health care.
Jeffrey, go get'em! You deserved better.

This is going to get worse. Just wait. With the lack of medical doctors and nursing staff causing ERs to close all over BC, that paired with hospitals not having pediatrician coverage some days, with a constantly overburdened system.
Get ready for our healthcare system to fail.

Are you kidding? I have a couple foreign doctors who have been excellent. If it was a Canadian trained radiologist what should we do then? What kind of measures should be taken then? What kind of racist crap can we attribute then?

yea lets sue the already overworked and understaffed doctors when you have the disposable income to fly to new york for top notch medical treatment.
this will dramatically help our healthcare system and make people want to become good doctors!

His case screams cancer... his original symptoms..... Always get a second opinion !! only case he has, is misdiagnosis.... his after effects are side effects to his treatment... yes side effects... to cancer treatments !!

Doctors are people too and aren't perfect. We do our best to make sure that our health system does the best it can for the greatest number of people but that means that sometimes things will not work out correctly. This happened to my family and there's rarely a day that goes by when I don't play the "what if" game. Suing someone wouldn't help my family member, suing won't change the system for someone else. I just have to have hope that the staff is still their best to make sure it happens as little as possible.
Life can be unfair and cruel at times, our strength of spirit can help us through it. Friends, family, and community are an important part of that.

I look at these comments here and can't imagine how anyone could detract from the glaring inadequacy of our health care system. Yes doctors are people too and not perfect, although when they're working in an overloaded and understaffed system the risk of mistakes and negligence increases substantially. Suing someone isn't going to fix your health problems, although at some point in our failing system maybe lawsuits are the means of forcing accountability and action to improve our system. The status quo isn't working, and it's actually getting worse. Just sitting back and residing to the idea that oh well that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes isn't going to drive the push that's needed to fix a broken system.

The racism in this post is unbelievable. And if the radiologist is Canadian born and raised? The Government is looking for a way to fix the lack of doctors and medical staff issue that we are now dealing with. If there is a qualified medical staff member that wants to move to Canada and can pass all the tests that are required for the Canadian trained staff, why wouldnt we take them? Rather have skilled people moving here to help then having all those living in hotels taking hand outs.

MSP payments should never have been stopped. Our health care system is only getting worse when it is dire need. That money should have been used for new equipment, training and bringing on more doctors and nurses. Bring it back!

Wow, the racist comment is unbelievable. We have a doctor from South Africa, incredible man. He calls us on weekends to just check in with us. He is the one that called to tell my husband he had lung Cancer before the specialist did. We went through the ''system'' a year ago. Specialist and numerous testings then surgery that got all the Cancer - all within 3 months of the first test showing it. The radiologists were excellent as were the 4 surgeons on it. Sometimes someone slips through and something happens. But don't paint the whole system as bad.

Castanet forums are full of right wing bigots and racists.
That being said, its pointless to make comments about this case because there are too many details left out, and nobody on this forum understands the procedures and challenges when diagnosing cancer.

There is no racism in this post. Was skin color or race mentioned?kimber9999 wrote: ↑Apr 16th, 2025, 10:28 amThe racism in this post is unbelievable. Growing up, I saw lots of white kids in those "needy kids" advertisements, because every country has many different races. Heck, Elon Musk is South African.
Nobody mentioned race, yet thats the first thing you flocked towards.
Foreign trained means they could have had less education. We are not aware of how well the training is from where this person came from, but thats a NATIONALITY, not a race.
Why is it that YOU had to bring up race? Very telling

Not a single time has race been mentioned, except for 2 posts, complaining about racism.Skaha Explorer wrote: ↑Apr 16th, 2025, 11:10 am Castanet forums are full of right wing bigots and racists.

Nationality and race are differing things. Elon Musk is South African. Where you are from doesn't dictate your skin color, and skin color doesn't matter in this situation.
It's about the education level received in said country.
Why did you INSTANTLY flock towards racism and bigotry? It's not here.
You just want it to be about race soo badly so you can virtue signal.
I bet you call Elon a lot of names. Should we go after you because it's racism? I mean, he's from Africa....
