Thank-you Kelowna

Post by Ramunn »

Thank-you to the nice lady that stopped in the morning to comfort me while I was lying on the pavement waiting for the Ambulance to arrive in the lower Mission. I just want you to know you were like an angel that morning a couple of years ago. Also I want to apologize again for the language I was using I don't talk that way but I was in incredible pain so sorry.:140:

Thank-you to the person that called 911 every second was torture for me so thanks for doing it so quickly. :124:

Thank-you to the RCMP that were there asap to do their job and direct traffic and take down the witnesses info.

Thank-you to the Fire Dept guys for helping load me on the stretcher as carefully as possible

Thank-you to the Paramedics who also put me on the stretcher and apologized for every bump in the road on the way to the Hospital and explaining why they couldn't give me any pain killers or knock me out which is what I really wanted.

Thank-you to all the Nurses that helped me at KGH you really helped my stay at your 5 star Resort & Spa as nice as you could thanks . :134:

The biggest thanks goes to my Neurosurgeon who's bed side manner is second to none, I wish all Doctors had the same empathy that you showed towards me and my family.

Thank-you for caring

Hey Ramunn, it's hard to believe that after all you've been through that you could have so much to be thankful for (I read your post explaining your accident). I'm a Massage Therapist and have seen so many people who have been through life-altering accidents and if the pain of the accident wasn't enough, they then have to deal with ICBC. Believe me, not all accident victims that I have seen carry such thankful attitudes. So don't ever lose that because it truly makes a HUGE difference in how you deal with your pain and recovery - keeping it positive.

You certainly have the right attitude and to keep remembering how blessed you are with your family and the fact that you are still here today to spend time with them.

Thanks to you for hopefully opening our eyes a little more to realize that we all have something to be thankful for....we just need to take some time to say it out loud once in a while. All the best in your continued recovery...... :smt059
Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.

anniecat a HUGE thank-you so much cause if it wasn't for your profession I couldn't get out of bed some days. I'm a Lawyers worst nightmare I refuse to be a victim and play dead for ICBC every time I talk to a shrink they commend me on my attitude and wished more people were like me. I know in the end I will end up getting screwed by ICBC because of it but I will have my dignity and sanity still .........I hope.

I'm a Massage Therapist

You are??? I like you already LOL My doctor just referred me to a massage therapist for pain up near my shoulder blade. It's obviously been many years since I had to go physio of any kind as when I was quoted $55.00 I nearly fell off my chair!
I am on disability and if I could afford that a couple times a week I would be lucky.
My medical covers $22.00 of it, but thats still $33.00 a pop. Do you have your own business or work from your home or? Maybe your retired? Even when my roomate massages it for 3 minutes it is SUCH a relief, but she hates doing it lol A 10-15 minute massage a couple times a week is what I need. If your in business maybe you could pm with some details? Thanks

Big Kudos for such a positive and affirming post! There's so many negative nellies out there that it's heart-warming to read such a kind-hearted tribute!
Good on ya Ramunn!

Thanks I've had a lot of specialists agree with you that I have an attitude they never see. It's not all roses though I was told a lot of people with the same damage as mine are in a wheel chair and for that I'm very great full I'm not. I do have huge limitations such as as sports I can't waterski, wakeboard, snow ski or board and golf very little now. I have a wonderful Wife and family and friends that have been a huge help to keep me on track. ICBC has been nothing short of despicable through out my ordeal and I have not gotten any compensation to this date it's like a game to them I swear all they do is make lawyers rich. I finished my discovery meeting last week and walked out after the day was up shaking my head with mediation at the end of next month I don't hold a lot of faith that I will be treated fairly they seem to want to totally ignore the fact 4 specialist agree I'm a prime candidate for Spinal fusion in the not too distant future. I'll keep you posted.
