Looking for a car........

Post by binky11 »

I am looking to purchase a vehicle.

Trouble is, there are many conditions which makes this search a little difficult. I am getting family help with the finances and they are very adamant that it should be a toyota or honda, although a nissan or mazda could be considered.

Because the requirements are many, it really narrows the search down and I felt if I put the word out there, maybe, just maybe someone's neighbour has such a car for sale in their driveway. You just never know!
Car being used now is falling apart, and although there is some urgency, I will go without a vehicle before rushing into something.

Here is what I am looking for.

-Must be automatic
-Must be Toyota (not an echo), Honda, Nissan or Mazda
-Preferably not older than 1999
-SUV in above models considered (preferably not 4x4)
-4 door preferred
-Under 140,000 kms (give or take)
-Under $10,000 (so can look at up to $11,000) but prefer around $9,000.
-Have NO faith in dealers, am hoping for private deal.

I'm sure some of you will say "good luck", but there has been such deals in the past. There is a terrific deal on a 2001 camry (lady driven) but she is away until April, I just can't wait that long. Camry is on top of my favorite list.

You're in luck....I just happen to be selling one of these beautiful imports and I think it meets all of your requirements....

You do need to wear good shoes though....especially this time of year...something waterproof with a good tread would be best.

Let me know...I'll set it aside for you!

Before you buy anything, check the vehicle out fully, and find out if and when the timing belt was changed. Some Timing Belt jobs are a bigtime expense depending on what engine the car has!
And, most of the newer engines need the belt changed at or near 100,000 kms, and some owners of 6 cylinder car engines skip that part of maintainance and then sell the car, which may need a $900 timing belt job.

Just some cheap honest advice! :smt023

I'm afraid that won't work! She said FOUR door preferred! That coupe is obviously a 2 door model! Close, but no cigar!
