Stolen camera!

Post by Bsuds »

I sympathize with this person but, 3 years worth of pictures on her camera and it's left in her car!
Ever heard of downloading to a computer once in a while, and backing it up! :smt075

I was going to make a post as well.

back the pictures up on CD or even another memory card or your computers hard drive,

The article says her car was broken into and gifts were stolen as well like 7 years ago...,

-Note to self don't leave things un-attened in your car especialy if your windows are not tinted and the items in your car are left in plain view.

iMy car has an alarm and an emobilizer, Yet i still never leave anything in the plain view of people
it's in the trunk atleast or in a hide away place of some sort.

I do feel for you being robbed.

But if you were a crook and saw a car with a nice big camera in it, would you break into it or the car next to you with some work cloths or change in the ashtray etc....

Theives will steal, it's not a question of IF, but When.
They want to make money So don't leave expensive things in the car.

I agree with everyone in this thread.

It's obviously a horrible situation, but it could have easily been avoided.

Yep! The only thing I ever leave in my car is garbage!

I feel sorry for this person, but she also mentioned she had had something stolen from her car previously!! Didn't she learn from that experience that you don't leave valuables in your car?? This camera was taken from her car at her residence. Firstly download the pictures and don't leave valuables in your car!!
Hopefully there won't be a third time for this person.

I'm glad I'm not the only one shaking my head. I really do feel for this woman, I'd die if I lost all my pics of my kids. I learned my lesson on making back up copies when my comp almost had to be thrown out due to a virus and it was the only place I had copies of all my pics from the last 5 years.

HOpefully this woman will learn to stop leaving stuff in her vehicles though...

Yes! Do not leave anything in your car. The other night I forgot to set the alarm to my car, it was broken into for $3.25. :ohmygod:

How sad that this woman’s memories are lost. Again we see the importance of keeping our valuables safe and out of sight.

Isn’t it ironic that we are forced to assume guilt for items stolen from us, when the real criminal behaviour is being done by someone else? Crayzeee world we live in.

Judge to Thief: “Well, what do you have to say for yourself?”
Thief: “I wouldn’t have stolen it from her had she not left it in plain view. It’s her fault I broke into her car and stole it.”
Judge to Plaintiff: “The Defendant has a point, and because of your negligence, this person is continuing a pattern of theft. Shame on you, you should know better. Case dismissed.”

Keep it locked safe and sound, then no one can blame you for the wrongdoings of others.

*personal attack removed/Jo*
sure the lady lost a very valuable item with memories....
But any person with common sense knows there are thieves out there.
If people made it harder for them to steal things. Then there would be less of them around.
But people now a days need to live life expecting the unexpected.

When you play with fire...will you get burned?

I feel no sympathy for what has happend. Ive been robbed as well. could i have pervented it?
Maybe not a 100%, but definetly 90%.

the irony of the fact is how this has happend to her befor.....

HELLOEEEEE DID YOU NOT LEARN THE FIRST TIME?

With the amount of money in gifts and cameras this lady has lost she could have bought a sweet alarm system of some sort. :coffeecanuck:

That's pretty much what all the posts agree to, so why are the posts pathetic?

Well... It most definitely IS ironic that we all accept blame for making it easy for losers and cretins to make victims of us IF WE LET THEM. It's ironic in my opinion.

The day a criminal was successful in suing a landowner for injuries sustained while breaking into the residence was the day victims of crime became victims of a double-edged sword.

I'm gonna move this to grab bag, as I'm seeing it more as a Darwin Award, then Kelowna News!
