The food bank gets eggs in flats and needs the egg cartons to repackage the eggs. Just ordered 1,035 egg cartons which will be delivered - she has no idea they are coming.
Would love to save them but we buy the flats at Costco.

Called the bank to check on something - learned they now offer a callback service. Knowing how telecoms are with that feature, I wasn't sure but decided to give it a try. Colour me surprised, got a callback within 10 minutes.

I was able to downsize my roses, passed them along to people who have time to take care of them and sunnier spots to put them.

Young man had his bike stolen from his place of work, he was posting everywhere hoping someone would find it before it was chopped. Props to Kelowna Chrysler for gifting him a new bike. :) You can see the pix on their FB page

A few days ago, a young man posted on Rants and Raves how his bike was stolen from his work. He wasn't asking for anything, just to keep an eye out - it was his pride and joy, and meant everything to him.
We noticed, and today, we were able to deliver him a new mountain bike. We were all almost in tears as he took "delivery".
All of us at Kelowna Chrysler are so grateful to pay it forward to a young man who works hard, and is doing his best. Happy riding Riley "

Can now do in room visits with mum(2 adults) at her LTC, and bring one dog. Plus, can now take her out for a drive through and drive to a park.
She has had her 2 shots. Us, not yet one.

Looking at the sun outside, seeing the temps rise. We're still in the range I finding comfortable. Once we head past 30 I get distinctly UNcomfortable.

Best part is the officer making arrangements for a 92-year-old WWII vet to spend time with the animals.

Dave loves his job as an Ontario Provincial Police officer. Known for being an extreme animal lover, Dave received a call one day that was one of the most unusual and thrilling calls ever. A local resident was fostering a lion cub and the adorable cat would be living at her house for a few weeks while it received some special care. Dave was invited to meet the cub, which was a chance he could not resist.
Jim, an animal lover himself, listened in wonder and his eyes lit up. He said he would also love an opportunity to some day meet a lion.

In a touching show of generosity, the facility that owned this cub heard about Jim's dream and they invited Jim to have an experience with their animals. Treated as an honoured guest, Jim spent more than an hour cuddling with lions and tigers. Touched and overwhelmed, Jim left the facility, promising that it was a day he would never forget. True to his word, Jim spoke of that day in his final moments as he passed away peacefully several months later.
