Maybe it's not over yet?

Yesterday was a good day. What made me smile are the quiet moments -

Sitting on the (cleaned!) deck, with laundry on the line, pork chops on the BBQ, listening to the birds and my little fountain, looking at my flowers and veggie garden. A rare quiet moment to enjoy my space.
I haven't failed until I quit.

It's over. For now.

But now comes an even greater challenge, getting quotes for a renovation. :fence:
I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

That could be fun as it's tough to get anyone to even show up!

Get references!!!!

Me too
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

After getting no replies from emails to the Revenue Dept of the City, and holding for 30 mins to only get a voice mail - no call back I went down to City Hall yesterday

As I was paying I explained to the Man how often I had tried contacting them to no avail
His reply " we are really busy"
Besides me there was ONE other person there! Nearly burst into laughter there, waited til I was out in the parking lot

He said it totally straight faced/ I imagine 5 people there - chaos

Air Canada has the worst record for late arrivals of N. America’s airlines

This story might explain why

First thing that came to mind was a tail wind was strong enough to get the flight too far ahead of its scheduled landing slot.

Perhaps OT could elaborate ?

Watching/listening to Lawrence O'Donnell tonight he made a great point.

I sent a parking violation request to By-Law about this car parked the same way for 2 days.

Got a reply that not only did they give him a ticket but also towed him/her.

That made me smile!

Sadly my Wife recently passed away so I purchased a bottle of 20 year old scotch and poured it on her grave.

I did filter it through my Kidneys first.
