August 1/18

Kelowna: 145.9/L :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear:

Westbank and Peachland 141.9/L  That's where I filled up.

Gas is $1.30 in Winfield /Lake Country yesterday and today. Petro Canada, Gas Depot, Super Save ... that's 11 cents cheaper than Kelowna right now !!

YoYo prices here in Vernon. One day up, blink, next day down. For no discernable reason that I can figure.

Are they still dusting, polishing and waxing at the refinery (excuse from spring onwards)? :-X

CNRL Horizon is about halfway thru their yearly shutdown right now, after that Albian is scheduled. Has to be done once a year.

Thanks Kayak. I guess this news can be construed as "no end in sight" for stable and reasonable prices.

Yep, yep, yep. Gassed up at Safeway in Vernon last Wednesday. $1.23 after the .5 coupon from groceries. Felt I got a good deal because the next day gas prices in the select few locations went back up to $1.41 the next day. Total gouging for years, yet like everthing else that’s wrong in our society, everyone *bleep* about it, taxpayer watch groups, politicians, stakeholders etc, do absolutely nothing about it except... console the public and collect their fat paycheques on our back. :swear: Kinda like the addiction and homeless issues. Oh sorry :topic:

If you do your shopping at Safeway and spend $50 or more, you can get 4 cents off the price at the pump with Shell. This is a limited time offer...usually a month in September.

If you are a RBC customer, you can get 3 cents off the pump price by getting your client and credit card linked to the petrocan card.

130.9 in Lake Country - except the Shell which is 140.9. These prices have been all weekend and were still good 1 hour ago.

At Safeway, It’s not a limited time offer except the receipts have an expiry date for several weeks later. They’ve been doing this for at least a few years, and not just limited to September. It’s all year round.

** I just edited my post...to say the 4 cents off at the pump with shell. Yes Safeway has been doing this for awhile, but the association with shell is limited to a month or two a couple times a year. Safeway also offers the 4 cents off at their own pumps, but Kelowna doesnt have a gas bar, unfortunately. ;)

I joined the Co-op earlier this year. Supposed to get a refund chq eventually but that still does not make up for or excuse the wayward pricing.

PoCo, you are right. Even with gov't watchdogs (hardehar) and investigations, they always come up with the same: "No collusion here in gas pricing even though they all jack prices up and down in syncrhrony....all is well". Guess that must satisfy those who believe gov't has our best interests at heart. Just look at all those taxes rolling in!! And, just look how much those task force guys make/day "looking into the matter."

We are being bled to death, a buck at a time.
