It’s not illegal for companies to ask clients/customers for their Social Insurance Number.
It is pretty damn stupid of the client/customer to hand this information over to someone who isn’t a government agency or employer for payroll income tax purposes.

Telus, Hydro, newspaper boy, grocery store, CC company can ask for it, of course, but NOT entitled to have it.

Your bank must have SIN number so that when reporting earnings, a copy must be sent to Big Brother to tax your earnings on interest accrued

*shrugs* When I was a kid, we had to go and get a SIN number for me in order to open an account for that birthday money cheque. That was a long time ago… no dinosaurs left, but there sure wasn’t the internet or easy access to Fox News.

The drama south of the border and a successful presidential run by trump would have world wide detrimental effects. Not sure if Canada is really ignoring that train wreck though.

Left and far left hasn't been good. And while I am right-leaning, I don't think that the current crop of candidates are worth their salt. Same old corruption and pandering as is currently in power, IMO.

Sock Packaging!!! I despise all the little plastic things that go through the pairs of socks. I have a six pack of pairs and there are millions of them, they are too tight to socks to cut, and get lodged in the socks when I rip them..! Big problem, I know :(
