Bliss Bakery closed

Post by pommiepainter »

Just read that the Bliss Bakery on Bernard has closed. Just because I'm curious, does anyone know the reason why???

it was always dead in there

lots of competition

wrong location

the other locations are doing very well

lots of homeless people *bleep* on the windows and leaving needles in the bathrooms

I found most baked good very dry because they didn't have the volume there. other locations were awesome

Doesn't matter what business one goes to downtown the homeless are constantly out front bugging for change, cigarettes and such.

Never busy when I was there, and not all the selection the shop on Ellis has.. and it was big for being so empty.. agree, probably a financial decision.

Fair enough then!

Related note, LOVE their Peachland location. Always head there in the summer months and sit outside

Who in their right mind would want to traverse a gauntlet of druggies to buy a loaf of bread when fresh bread is available at so many other "safe" locations without the hassle?.

What came first? The bakery or the druggies?

Their hours were crappy. I think they close around 5 or 5:30pm on weekdays. They also open later. Compared to other coffee shops like The Bean Scene that open from like 6am-9:30pm they are shooting themselves on the foot before even discussing coffee or pastries.
