What is internet dating like for women.

I tried the internet dating thing and did meet a couple nice women but nothing special.
I swear, the last time I was on POF most of the females were just fake profiles.

You have to put your pic online don't you? Or can you get away without posting a pic?

Any time I've gone into these sites to have a peek, I try to find out how many pages of each gender there are. Same thing for all sites....special interest, long term, or quick hook up, fetish whatever, it doesn't matter, hell- religious/faith dating sites even.....same pattern....Pages upon pages of men. 10 to 1 ratio minimum. Some sites- 1000 to 1.
Online dating for men....what's the point when working with numbers like that? If someone was looking for something really specific like a certain exact look or interest or kink then I can see putting something on adultfriend finder or whatever it is, and just letting it sit and collect dust among the other thousands....eventually it might get a response but it could sit there for months or even years.
