It's not Christmas until you hear this song.

Remember yesterday. Dream tomorrow. Live like crazy today.

Ah yes, Boney M. Definitely our favourite Christmas album. They've got beautiful voices.

As for the Christmas spirit, mine has improved immensely over the past eight or nine years, all because of our grandkids.
For too many years there were no true believers in our house, and then these loveable little creatures started coming into our life, and voila, the house is again filled with kids and Santa Claus.

And then there's the Christmas baking! Nanaimo bars are number one.

Oh man.........I have made a much similar mistake!

I was TOLD, in no uncertain terms..."Don't EVER buy me anything with a power cord again!!!!"

That is strange, because I really like to receive things with electrical cords attached.

I don't know, some of my best gifts have had electrical cord. Honestly, I'd prefer my Miele vacuum over diamonds or some nonsense.

I'm sorry but Nanaimo Bars are not considered a Christmas treat...I will be right over to confiscate them so you can make some real Christmassy stuff!

If you have any Chocolate covered cherries I will take those too.

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Titania McGrath: I’m dreaming of a woke Christmas

Make this the most wonderfully inclusive time of year: swap pantos for lectures on social justice, says an activist and intersectionalist poet

It’s the most problematic time of the year. Christmas manages to combine two of the most pernicious ideologies ever conceived: patriarchal Christianity and free-market capitalism. It is perhaps best epitomised by the advent calendar, a convention intended to encourage self-indulgence and at the same time remind us that the Virgin Mary craved chocolate for the last month of her pregnancy.

It’s time for a new socially conscious form of Christmas, one that is more inclusive and intersectional. Here are my suggestions.

Merry Christmas Castanutters!

So here it is almost upon us and are we all ready for the fat man in red to arrive?

I'm more of a Bah Humbug kind of guy but I don't mind getting new stuff to play with. It gets tougher every year because we don't really need anything so will just have to wait one more day to see what's under the tree.

I'm looking forward to see what our new rescue dog Sunny does with her presents. Our last 2 dogs both would have fun opening theirs.
