I am sure, at some point in our lives, we have all had living, breathing PROOF that dogs can (and do) pass gas!

Am sooo pleased you like this thread and that things worked well.

I am having a chuckle these days about the Raid Wasp Trap ads that are running on TV right now. They say the traps will get the queen. LOL - not at this time of year they won't!!! The queens don't leave the nest once they establish and start a new nest. So someone said, "Well, then the workers take the poison back to the queen." ummm ... sure ... you trap and kill the worker so how's it gonna get back to the queen? Talk about misleading advertising, eh???

The only way those traps (any of them) will get the queen is if you hang them out early in the spring when the queens are flying and establishing new nests. So my advice is to get a few extra traps and store them over the winter, then put them out in about March when the weather warms enough for the queens to come out of "hibernation".

BTW - I like the new Pherotech Wasp Traps. They are environmentally friendly and non-toxic. Work well, too. A friend took one to a BBQ last weekend and in the space of about 3 hours it had trapped and killed a huge amount! She said the wasps were no problem at the BBQ because of the trap. I haven't tried them personally, as I don't seem to have a problem this year - have my brown paper bags hung all over from last year so that prolly deterred the queens from making their nests near me. YAY!!!

Cheers,
Gramma

Those brown paper bags really do work! I first heard of people using them while listening to a CBC talk show a few years ago. Now I've got them hanging off the eaves an under the patio umbrellas. When we are eating dinner outside,we put one in the center of the table and are never bothered by wasps. Wasps aren't that bright are they?

I can't wait to tell Crash.

For hornets nests etc. I believe it was The Berry Barn in Sask. that hung clear plastic bags of water from the rafters of their patio, hung with one corner filled to resemble somewhat a nest.

I saw the Littlest Hobo dogs (6 I think there were) in person :) and the way Mr. Eisenmann put them through the motions, it looked quite evident they did see colours from a yellow ribbon in a bystander's hair to someone's red dress. His book Stop! Sit! and Think was quite informative.

Hi.. not really sure if this fits into the "Grammafreddy's Home Remedy and Old Fashioned Nonsense Thread" or not, but here goes...

For all you fisherman/ladies - You need worms for fishing (when bait is allowed) and you just can't seem to find any?
Soak down a piece of cardboard with water, and lay it down on the ground in a grassy or dirt area. Then lift it up (early morning is best, but works after just a short time as well) and scoop up your worms! Tried, tested and works like a charm!

Speaking of fishing, is there anywhere near Kelowna to catch Grayling? Mmmm! Yukon fish!
