Costco....This just In
First the good news....
Costco is still selling its lost leader hot dogs and pop for 2 bucks....
But...the bad news??
You now order your food via a touch screen..no staff to process your order
Which causes me to pause.
Is it possible that the new Costco will use tap and go self serve in its new store?
Maybe.

This just in.....they have been using touch screen for months now. Why do you think they will use touch screen for checkouts? No proof at all that will occur. It's also a buck and a half.

Please reread the post.."is it possible"
It was not long ago that Wal-Mart had 20 cashiers. .Now it has 12 self serve check outs and how many cashiers|?
I am not a Costco member.
I have always wondered why someone would pay a store a membership fee

If the rumored IKEA goes into the old Costco location, their hotdogs will only cost $1.00, hej!

Hot dogs for a buck? Sign me in...What about barbecue chickens?.. Ikea being Swedish I will probably have to settle for Swedish meatballs
Yeah, and I don't have to be a member!!!
Supposedly, Ikea needs a larger population base than the Okanagan for a store.
Also they do the on line thing, with pickup available in Kelowna.
They recently have announced that they will no longer issue a catalogue.

Costco already has self checkouts at a lot of their stores. Hopefully the new Kelowna store will get a few of them as well.rookie314 wrote:This just in.....they have been using touch screen for months now. You can stop wondering now, as they charge a membership fee so that people can access the available savings. The first month more than covers my membership fee.Mrmarvingardens wrote:Please reread the post.."is it possible"

The cash back from Costco and Capitol one more than covers the membership too.Urban Cowboy wrote:

I also think their return policy can't be beat. You don't even need the receipt because the info is all in the computer.
The battery in one of our cars went belly up awhile ago and when I pulled it out it was a Kirkland. So I took it back to the store and they checked and gave me 100% back because it was only a couple of years old. I had forgotten that we bought it there.

People want an Ikea here and have been wondering for years if we'll ever get one, but that's as close to a rumour as we'll get.CrystalCity wrote:If the rumored IKEA goes into the old Costco location, their hotdogs will only cost $1.00, hej!
There's a lot of money in Kelowna. The typical Ikea customer (please don't take this as an insult) doesn't have a lot of money. There's not enough poor people here to make Ikea viable.
When someone says they pay taxes, you know they're about to be an ******e.

A line for less items would be good too but they don't want you to buy just a few things.Even Steven wrote:Self check out at Costco would be fantastic.
Edited to add: I wish they would just hurry up and build the new store!

If the dea of spending money to save money overall, does not appeal to you don't join.
Basic membership is 60 dollars .. we pay 120 .. but on that one we get some cash back.... more th a our membership fees, every year. . So we can't afford not to be member's.

Yes, IKEA will be selling hotdogs for $1.00
You have to grow the condiments yourself tho ( comes with easy instructions)
And they will be called varmkorv :0
A hotdog for $2.00 sounds like a trip to the drugstore for gravol

Costco's Hotdogs are $1.50 and are great. You get a Pop with that too. Unfortunately it's a Pepsi.normaM wrote: A hotdog for $2.00 sounds like a trip to the drugstore for gravol

Even better cooked at home in the Instant pot then onto the grill to finish.
