Right on! You landed in a perfect environment.
In the first place, God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards.

Sorry not me PoplarSoul,
This is closer to what mine looks like.

Long boat on a short car.
I was thinking, don't horses like carrots?
So it's only appropriate that a Mustang wants something Carrot coloured.

Re: Adventures at Work 2021
Sorry no photos today.
I never knew this when I applied for or even started the job however I was somehow hired on as the Driver / Manager.
So I am basically in charge of scheduling, safety issues and somehow some PR work.
As well as driving 38 hours most weeks.
In the last 3 weeks through word of mouth and simply waving at all the families walking we pass our ridership has risen steadily.
I broke the daily record around a week ago with 83 passengers in one day. Which is over 10% of the population here.
( this is the third year for the bus, it was shut down last year due to Covid )
That's when I set a realistic goal.
We are now aiming for over 100 passengers. Not every day but more than once this year.
Yesterday we came even closer with 93 passengers.
In a way I was hoping it would be the day however I also wanted more time for a plan I came up with.
Then today I wrote to a board member and got permission to make arrangements for a free Pizza for our record breaking passenger.
We will also be getting an ad ina local news letter.
Plus hopefully also get some time with the local radio station and have a small celebration at the same time.
The budget is practically nothing, so it isn't like we can buy an ad or even the pizza.
It may not sound like much of an accomplishment for a city the size of Kelowna, but for a small island this is Huge.
I can't honestly even call this a Town. If you have ever been here you would realize it's more like various businesses and houses scattered around an island the size of Winfield.
Oh for the most part this is a pilot project.
The government taxes everyone for transit, even if your community doesn't have any bus service.
They won't give these smaller communities a bus because it isn't economically viable.
However if the community is able to fundraise and buy a bus on their own they suddenly have a little negotiating power to ask for some transit money back.
This year the government has given the community enough funding to hire a full time driver / manager ( me ) and as long as we have an average of 7 passengers an hour throughout the summer we will get more next year.

Maybe one of us (posters) can go for a nice road trip up your way and become the 100th passenger.
Who doesn't like pizza?
Plus get away from all that smoke.
Assuming you guys up there are free of that.
